A Juicy Surprise on a Road Trip

The first peach of the trip

When I think of peaches, I think of Georgia. That is likely due to the genius of marketing by the Georgia Entertainment Group, whose logo appears during the closing credits of many films.

But during a recent road trip, I discovered Georgia isn’t the only state with a significant connection to the fruit.

While driving through Gaffney, South Carolina, my husband and I saw a massive water tower with a peach replica on top. He mentioned that South Carolina produces more peaches than Georgia—a fact he'd shared before. Curious, I searched online to learn more.
